Rime – 398 viewsMany times the mountains will appear white as if it had snowed, but it will only be "rime" or "hoarfrost" in the trees. When everything is well below freezing, and a cloud passes through the trees, the moisture in the cloud will collect on every twig as a thin white frost. It is really pretty until it melts.

Ski Resort – 2929 viewsThis is an artist's drawing of a ski resort planned for our location back in the 50's. The side of Blood Mountain was to have been the ski slopes. A corporation had been created and stock was sold to finance the endeavor. It failed, and now our cabins are located here and the trees on the mountain were not cut down and now the mountain is part of a wilderness area.

Sledding – 809 viewsWe have a dozen sleds in our woodshed, and some of our driveways are great fun if the snow is deep enough and dry enough.

Feb., 2006 – 1385 viewsThis is a lousy picture of a 9" snow in February, 2006. Not much of a picture, but the snow was great, and it was a good one for sledding. We did not have many cabins full then, but the kids that were here had a good time.
